Women’s Swimming Beats LMU In Dual Meet

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's swimming team beat Loyola Marymount, 150-110 in a dual meet held at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex. As a team the Rainbow Wahine won nine events on the day.

The Rainbow Wahine were led by Alyssa Manlow and Melissa Myers, who each won two events. Manlow won the 200 yard butterfly in a time of 2:08.46 and won the 100 yard butterfly in a time of 59.08.

Myers won the 500 yard freestyle in a time of 5:10.92 and won the 1000 yard freestyle in a time of 10:33.15.

UH swept the 200 yard freestyle, with Maura Barrett taking first with a time of 1:53.79 and Emma Berry finished second and Annathea Accornerro finished third.

Victoria Tan won the 100 yard backstroke in a time of 59.51 and Ricarda Schellenberg finished second. Schellenberg won the 200 yard backstroke in a time of 2:08.73 and Tan finished second. Katie Edwards won the 200 yard backstroke in a time of 2:22.34.

The Rainbow Wahine now prepare for the WAC Championships, which begin Feb. 24.
