Rainbow Wahine Sailors Hit The Water

RICHMOND, Calif. – University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine sailors Hannah Tuson-Turner and Jaclyn McLoughlin officially kicked off the sailing season at the PCCSC Women's Singlehanded Championships. The pair finished in fifth and seventh place, respectively.
 
A total of seven sailors from four schools participated in the regatta hosted by California and Cal Maritime at the Richmond Yacht Club. Seven races were completed in moderate conditions with Stanford sailor Eliza Richartz (9 point) and USC's Kelsey Rupp (196 point) taking the top two spots. The pair automatically qualified for the Women's Singlehanded Nationals in Corpus Christi, Texas in November. Tucson-Turner (34 points) finished 25 points off the pace, while McLoughlin finished with 46 points.
 
The Rainbow Wahine next participate in the Bryson Women's Intersectional, hosted by Stanford, Oct. 3-4.
