Women's Tournament Notes
The University of Hawai'i men's and women's golf teams kick off their 2009-10 seasons at the third annual Giustina Memorial Classic, September 28 through 29, at the Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, Ore.
UH will compete in the 10-team field along with host Oregon State, Boise State, Cal Poly, Nevada, Oregon, Portland, South Carolina-Upstate, Washington State, and Wyoming.
The tournament's unique format will have men and women playing together. Teams will consist of one man and one woman from each school, and teams will be paired to play in a foursome (i.e. the #1 golfer from the men's and women's teams from UH will play with the #1 golfer the men's and women's team from Oregon State).
For each golfer, 54 holes will be played in the two-day tournament, 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.
This marks the first time UH will compete at the Giustina Memorial Classic.
