DENVER – University of Hawai'i cross country athlete
Jessica Forrester was named the Western Athletic Conference Cross Country Athlete of the Week after capturing the Big Wave Invitational title over the weekend.
Forrester, a senior from Brandon, Florida (University of Tampa), won the 4K race held at the Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course. She crossed the finish line with a time of 15:05.44 to help the Rainbow Wahine to a second place team finish.
In UH's season-opening race two weeks ago, Forrester placed second overall at the 5K HPU Invitational.
At the Big Wave Invite, two other Rainbow Wahine placed in the Top 5 as Ashley Aitken was runner-up and
Tava Tedesco took fourth.
This week, Forrester and the Rainbow Wahine will participate in the Chaminade Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 26.
