WOODLAND, Calif. – University of Hawai'i senior
Lisa van Raalte was named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women's water polo academic all-conference team, announced today by the conference office. The selection is the second of van Raalte's career at UH.
MSPF executive director Al Beaird announced today the 2009 team, which included 39 student-athletes. The criteria included a 3.0 grade point average or better, at least a sophomore academically, have completed one full academic year and must have played in 50 percent or more of the team's games.
The Auckland, New Zealand native earned her first all-academic selection following her sophomore season in 2007.
This season van Raalte helped lead UH to a fourth place finish at the NCAA Championship and the team finished ranked No. 4 in the country.
She scored 33 goals and played in all 29 matches. She is also on track to graduate in the fall.
