Rainbow Wahine Finish 10th At National Semifinals

Final Results

SAN FRANCISCO – The University of Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine sailing team saw its season come to a close with a 10th place finish in the ICSA Women's National Semifinals. The Rainbows missed an appearance in the finals by one spot as the top nine teams advanced for two more days of competition.
 
A total of 14 races, seven in both the A and B divisions, were completed in cool and gusty conditions. It came down to the wire as UH, making its ninth nationals appearance in the last 11 years, was just four points off from ninth place with two races remaining. However, Eckered was able to hold off the Rainbow Wahine with a total of 109 points to UH's 119.
 
Hannah Tuson-Turner, Tahnee Allman, Darla Baldwin tallied 66 points in the A division, good for 10thBecky Mabardy, Jaclyn McLoughlin, Jessi Locke finished ninth in B division with 53 points.
 
Eckerd, along with Old Dominion, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Boston University, Boston College, Rhode Island, Connecticut College, and Brown join nine automatic qualifiers for the women's finals to be conducted May 26-27.
