Rainbow Wahine Golf to Compete in WAC Championship

Tournament Notes

The University of Hawai'i women's golf team travels to Reno, Nevada to compete in the Western Athletic Conference Championship, April 20-22, at the Wolf Run Golf Club. The Rainbow Wahine are looking to win the program's first conference title.

The eight teams will play a total of 54 holes, 18 holes each day. The tee time schedule for the first round is set, with teams beginning at either 7:30, 8:10, or 8:50 a.m. Team tee times for the second and third rounds will be determined by the previous round's results.

The Rainbow Wahine have finished third in the last two WAC Championships, their best finishes since their inaugural appearance in the tournament in 1997.

In the 2007 WAC Championship, UH (299-312-300=911) finished five shots back of team champion, Idaho, but still qualified for it's first-ever appearance in an NCAA tournament. In 2008, UH (301-302-314=917) held a seven-shot lead going into the final round of the tournament but fell short to Fresno State.
