COLLEGE STATION, Texas – University of Hawai`i junior diver
Emma Friesen is in College Station, Texas as she prepares for the NCAA Championships, which begin Thursday, March 19 at the University of Texas A&M.
Friesen is making her third straight appearance at the NCAA Championships and is the reigning 1-meter diving champion. She qualified for the championships by winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events last week at the NCAA Zone E Qualifier in Austin, Texas.

Mike Brown staying in Texas and made the short trip to College Station in preparation for this week's NCAA Championships. The championships are being held at the Student Recreation Center Natatorium on the campus of Texas A&M.
The opening day, Thursday, features the 1-meter diving finals, followed by the 3-meter final on Friday. The platform final is schedule for Saturday, the final day of the championships.
Friesen followed up her 2008 NCAA Championship by winning the 1-meter and 3-meter at the WAC Championships in 2009 and was named the WAC Diver of the Year. Brown was also named the Diving Coach of the Year for the fourth year in a row.
Friesen broke the WAC 1-meter record this year and has won the 1-meter at the WAC Championships for three straight years. Her 3-meter victory was the first of her career.
