Women’s Basketball Volunteers At Race For The Cure

The Rainbow Wahine basketball team, along with 6,000 participants and over 300 volunteers converged at Kapi'olani Park to show support for the Susan G. Komen Hawai`i Race For The Cure. 
 
The team enthusiastically volunteered to man booths which educated and advocated for healthy living. The team members met many inspiring individuals throughout the day and even recruited potential fans.

Breast cancer is the leading cause among American women and second to only lung cancer in cancer deaths. More than two million women currently living in the United States have been diagnosed and treated for breast cancer. One out of 13 females will be diagnosed with the disease.
