Warrior Golf Hosts Kaua‘i Collegiate Invitational

Tournament Notes

The University of Hawai'i men's golf team hosts their first tournament of the season, the 2nd annual Kaua'i Collegiate Invitational, Oct. 26 through 28, at the Puakea Golf Course in Lihue, Kaua'i.

The Warriors will be competing in the 10-team field along with Gonzaga, James Madison, Loyola Marymount, Sacramento State, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Utah, and Weber State.

The three-day tournament consists of 54-holes, 18 holes played each day. Golfers will compete on a par-72 course checking in at 6,954 yards.

UH finished the inaugural Kaua'i Collegiate Invitational in 12th place with an 870 total (295-288-287). Sophomore #T.J. Kua# was top finisher for the Warriors, tying for 15th at 4-under par (71-70-71=212). Also competing were sophomore Jared Sawada who tied for 47th, junior Kamden Brakel who tied for 57th, and sophomore Pono Calip who placed 69th.

San Diego is the defending champion, winning last year's tournament team title with a three-round score of 39-under, 825 (286-267-272).
