Warriors Look To Snap Skid Against No. 6 Boise State

Game Notes

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Warrior football team hosts sixth-ranked and defending Western Athletic Conference champion Boise State, Saturday, Oct. 24. Kickoff is 5:05 p.m. at Aloha Stadium.

The Warriors (2-4, 0-3 WAC) have dropped their last four games, including three straight WAC contests. UH is coming off a 35-23 loss at Idaho last Saturday despite quarterback Bryant Moniz passing for 360 yards and a touchdown and rushing for another score.

In the loss, the Warriors suffered yet another season-ending injury to a key starter when wide receiver Rodney Bradley went down with a leg injury. Hawai'i has been plagued with injuries this season including three season-ending injuries to Bradley, linebacker Brashton Satele (shoulder) and quarterback Greg Alexander (knee). In addition, several key starters have missed games due in injury.

Boise State (6-0, 1-0 WAC) is ranked fourth in the first Bowl Championship Series rankings released this week. The Broncos are coming off a 28-21 victory over Tulsa last Wednesday. BSU won its only WAC contest, a 51-34 victory at Fresno State last month.

Since joining the WAC, the Broncos have defeated the Warriors seven times in eight tries. UH's only victory occurred in 2007 at Aloha Stadium. With the WAC title on the line, No. 14 Hawai'i won 39-27 to secure its first outright league title.

The 15th-ranked Broncos won last year's meeting, 27-7, in Boise, Idaho. UH trailed 10-7 at halftime but committed four costly second half turnovers and were out-scored 17-0 in the second half.
