Berry, Bocksnick Earn WAC Swimmer And Diver Of The Week Honor

DENVER – University of Hawai'i women's swimmer Emma Berry and diver Hanna Bocksnick were named the Western Athletic Conference swimmer and diver of the week, respectively.
 
Berry, a senior from Norman, Okla., won three individual events and was a member of a winning relay team as Hawai'i went 5-0 in dual meets at last week's WAC Shootout.
 
Berry opened the season with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.01), added a win in the 500 free (5:04.38) and swam the second leg on the team that won the 200 free relay (1:36.45) on Friday.  On Saturday, she won the 200 free (1:53.73), finished third in the 500 free (5:07.98) and also led off the 400 free relay team that took third (3:33.60).
 
Bocksnick, a freshman from Edmonton, Canada, made her debut with three victories at the WAC Shootout.
 
On Friday, Bocksnick scored 280.35 points on the one-meter board for the victory and placed third on the three-meter board with 256.15 points. On Saturday, she again claimed victory on the one-meter with 278.20 points and then swept that day's events with a score of 283.65 on the three-meter.
