Women’s Swimming And Diving Goes Perfect At WAC Shootout

WAC Shootout Results Day 2

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's swimming and diving team went 5-0 in dual meets at the WAC Shootout hosted by San Jose State, including going 3-0 on Saturday in San Jose, Calif.
 
On Saturday morning, UH beat Nevada 181-61, beat San Jose State 136-106 and beat Fresno State 188-54. Over the two days, the Rainbow Wahine went 5-0, beating New Mexico State and Boise State on Friday.
 
Emma Berry won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:53.73, and Amanda McTeague and Melissa Myers finished in second and third, respectively in the 1000-yard freestyle.
 
For the second straight day, the UH divers swept the 1-meter event. Hanna Bocksnick placed first with a score of 278.20, while Stephanie De Lima was second with a score of 257.80 and Daniella Nero was third with a score of 248.65.
 
The 3-meter diving event ended in the same result for UH, sweeping the final. Bocksnick won her second event with a score of 283.65 and De Lima finished second and Nero was third.
 
Freshman Katie Edwards finished second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:23.02 and Berry finished third in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:07.95.
