HONOLULU – A total of 20 teams competed in the
Peter Wenner Rainbow Invite Jan. 17-18 at Keehi Lagoon with Brown capturing both the coed and women's/junior varsity classes.
Nine races in each the A and B divisions were completed during the two-day event, named after former Rainbow sailor
Peter Wenner, who tragically lost his life in a recreational boating accident in November 2008. The host University of Hawai`i Rainbow sailing team fielded three teams in the coed and one team in the junior varsity/women's division and finished runner-up in both classes.
The coed team next competes in the Jeremy McIntyre Team Race in California, March 7-8. The Rainbow Wahine, meanwhile, are back in action in the South Florida Women's Intersectional, Feb. 21-22.
