UH Wins Three Events During Rainbow Diving Invitational

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai`i men's and women's diving teams won three events during the Rainbow Diving Invitational hosted by UH at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Center.
 
Freshman Douglas Cohen won two events, the 3-meter and platform and junior Emma Friesen won the 1-meter.
 
On the opening day, Cohen won the platform final with a score of 330.95. Freshman Thomas Rugg finished fourth with a score of 261.70. In the women's platform final, freshman Daniella Nero finished third with a score of 203.85.
 
The conclusion of the invitational saw Friesen win the 1-meter with a score of 300.55. Nero finished second with a score of 266.70. In the 3-meter final, Nero finished second with a score of 286.25 and Friesen finished third with a score of 286.25.
 
In the men's 1-meter, Cohen placed second with a score of 315.50, Rugg finished fifth with a score of 235.15 and James Keawe finished seventh with a score of 192.85.
 
Cohen won the 3-meter final with a score of 301.75 and Rugg finished third with a score of 264.50. Keawe placed seventh with a score of 205.00.
 
UH returns to the pool Feb. 12 when they compete in the Canadian Winter Nationals.
