DENVER – University of Hawai'i junior
Raquel Bartlow was named the Western Athletic Conference Diving Athlete of the Week, for the week of Nov. 9, announced Monday by the conference office.
The native of Long Beach, Calif., captured first place in three of the four diving events at the Anteater Shootout, hosted by UC Irvine last week. Bartlow won the 1-meter with a score of 242.85, and set a WAC-best score so far this season in the 3-meter with 292.10 points.
Bartlow's performances helped the Rainbow Wahine defeat Pepperdine, 69-44. This marks the first time in her career she has earned WAC Diving Athlete of the Week honors.
New Mexico State's Maria Apies was named Western Athletic Conference Swimming Athlete of the Week.
