SAN DIEGO, Calif -- The University of Hawai`i women's sailing team placed second in the PCCSC Women's Fall Championship this past weekend. The regatta was hosted by UC San Diego. The Rainbow Wahine finished behind No. 3 Stanford and ahead of five other teams.
UH had five sailors race in the regatta, in the A and B Divisions. Senior Crystal Bronte and sophomore Darla Baldwin sailed for the `Bows in the A Division and recorded a second place finish with 62 points. Evan Brown and Kelly McKenna for the Stanford Cardinal placed first with 25 points in the A Division.
The `Bows pulled off a first place finish in the B Division behind the sailing of freshman Hannah-Tuson Turner, senior Pamela Magasinn, and junior Danielle Hull. The trio tallied 47 points, 10 points ahead of second place finisher Stanford. Each division had 20 races.
The women's sailing team is on a break until they host the Rainbow Invite, Jan. 19-20 in Honolulu O`ahu.
