NCAA TOURNAMENT STORY LINES
  • UH competes in its seventh NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship. The BeachBows have made seven of eight NCAA Tournaments, missing out only in 2021.
  • This marks the third straight year UH and LMU face off in the NCAAs. The Lions defeated the BeachBows, 3-0, in each of the previous two NCAA meetings. The teams also met in the regular-season opener this year in Honolulu when LMU defeated UH, 4-1, in the Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic on Feb. 22.
  • The Rainbow Wahine earned an automatic bid after capturing the 2024 Big West Championship with a dramatic 3-2 win over host Long Beach State on April 26. It marked UH's fourth championship in eight seasons of Big West beach volleyball and first since 2018 when UH completed a run of three straight titles.
  • The 'Bows enter the NCAAs on a  season-long eight-match win streak. The last four of those wins came in the Big West Championship.
  • UH is 7-11 against ranked teams this season. All 11 losses have come against Top 10 squads and eight of the 11 have come against Top 5 teams. Four of UH's seven wins against ranked teams have come against the Top 10.
  • UH has played 11 of the teams in this year's NCAA field during the regular-season. The BeachBows went a combined 5-11 against those squads with wins over Long Beach State (3), LSU and Georgia State.
  •  The 'Bows are led by the No. 1 pair of Alana Embry and Jaime Santer. The duo has gone 24-11 and are the only duo to play together in every single match this season.
  • The Rainbow Wahine are 9-10 all-time in the NCAA Tournament. UH has advanced to Championship Sunday twice, finishing third overall each time (2017, '18).
