AUSTIN, Tex.—For the first time in his collegiate career, junior
Olli Kokko has been named an Honorable Mention All-American for the University of Hawai'i men's swimming team, due to his performance in the 100 breaststroke of the NCAA Championships on Friday.

Kokko clocked in at 52.22, finishing at No. 14 overall in the event. His prelim time of 51.98 narrowly missed the cut for the A final, securing the All-American status, but he did record a personal best in the process.

Earlier in the day, Kokko teamed up with senior
Metin Aydin, junior
Mateusz Chaba, and sophomore
Franz Adam for the 200 Medley Relay. The Rainbow Warriors finished at No. 21 with a time of 1:25.23.

Kane Follows were in action for the second consecutive day in individual events as both competed in the 100 backstroke. Aydin touched the wall at 46.24 with Follows following suit at 46.87, but neither were able to make it out of the preliminary heat.

In the three-meter dive senior
Johan Sandell narrowly missed the cut for the championship round as he finished at No. 20 overall with a score of 339.00. His performance in 2019 was a jump of 12 spots from 2018 when he finished at No. 32.

Saturday will mark the fourth and final day of the championships at the Lee & Joel Jamail Texas Swimming Center on the campus of the University of Texas. Aydin, Follows, Kokko, and Sandell will all be in action. Â
