DENVER – University of Hawai'i senior forward
Ambree Ako was named the Verizon Wireless Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, for the week of Oct. 19-25. This is Ako's third WAC Player of the Week honor and the second for a Hawai'i player this season.
Ako started the week posting UH's only goal in a 2-1 loss to Nevada (Oct. 23). She then had two goals, including the game-winner in the 3-1 win over Utah State (Oct. 25) on senior night. On the week, the 'Aiea, O'ahu, native took 13 shots, with six on goal.
For the season, the senior is tied for the team-lead with seven goals and 17 points.
Hawai'i will conclude their regular season on the road this week, playing at Boise State and Idaho on Oct. 30 and Nov. 1, respectively.
