Dr. Alvin Saake spent more than 46 years at UH before retiring in December 1990. He held a number of positions during five decades in athletics, including Rainbow men’s basketball coach. Commonly referred to as the “Father of Modern-Day UH Basketball,” Saake coached the Rainbows for nine seasons.
