Don Robbs, recognized as a pioneer in college baseball broadcasting, has called more than 2,000 games over a 40-year career as the “Voice of Rainbow Baseball.” Among his signature calls were the 1980 College World Series and Paul Brown’s perfect game. Robbs was the general manager of KKEA 1420AM, developing a radio partnership with UH athletics. While a broadcaster for KHVH in the 1970s, he hosted UH coaches shows and was the play-by-play announcer for the first statewide Rainbow Wahine volleyball telecast from Blaisdell Arena, a historic milestone for the sport nationally. Robbs also emceed decades of UH athletic banquets, including the UH Sports Circle of Honor.
