2009 (Freshman): Started all 58 games in centerfield…named first team all-WAC…earned WAC Freshman of the Year honors…named freshman all-America by Louisville Slugger/Collegiate Baseball, Baseball America, Rivals.com, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Ping!...earned second team all-West Region honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings…played on the USA Baseball national team this past summer…finished the year with a .341 batting average, posting 52 RBI, 46 runs, 11 homers, two triples, 21 doubles and 11 stolen bases…ended WAC play with a .424 batting average, 29 RBI, 15 runs, five homers, 12 doubles and two triples…earned Dairy Queen Classic all-tournament honors…went 5-for-16 in the Mississippi State series, hitting his first collegiate home run in the finale (Mar. 8)…tied the school single-game home run record, breaking the record at home, by homering three times vs. Loyola Marymount (Mar. 12)…earned WAC Hitter of the Week honors (Apr. 13), after going 12-for-18 with 10 RBI, seven runs, two homers, three doubles and two stolen bases…went 4-for-6 with three RBI, three runs and a home run at Nevada (Apr. 9)…was 4-for-5 with five RBI, a homer, a double and two runs at Nevada (Apr. 10)…had a 16-game hitting streak from Apr. 4-26 that included 12 multiple-hit games…homered in back-to-back games at Fresno State (May 7, 8), then went 1-for-5 with three RBI and 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs and two doubles in the doubleheader (May 9).
 
Prep: A 2008 graduate of Kamehameha-Hawaii in Kea’au, Hawai`i…lettered in both football and baseball…State co-player of the year in 2008 in baseball…named to all-league first team in 2005-08…named to all-state first team in 2006 and 2008…batting average was .660 during his senior year, never batting below .500 throughout his four-year high school career…played for the Hilo Cal Ripken League team that took second in the 2003 World Series…team came in third in the Seniors world series…also named league player of the year in football in 2006, earning first-team all-league honors from 2005-07…drafted in the 16th round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the Minnesota Twins…inducted into the HHSAA Foundation Hall of Honor…was a scholar athlete.
