The University of Hawai'i women's cross country team will make its first trip to the mainland this season by competing in the Stanford Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Stanford University Golf Course.
UH "B" team will also compete Saturday at the HPU Invitational at the Kahuku Golf Course.
The Stanford Invitational will consist of seven UH runners among the field. The Rainbow Wahine will compete in their first 6k race of the year at 10:30 a.m. PT. The meet will feature 30 teams and over 3,322 runners.
Senior
Kevyn Murphy has been the top finisher for UH in the 5k the last two weeks. At last year's Stanford Invitational, Murphy finished first among UH runners in the 6k race with a time of 22:45 and placed 108
th in the field.
UH will also send seven runners to compete at the HPU Invitational, which begins at 9:00 a.m. HT. Last year UH finished third as a team in the 5k race.
