The University of Hawai'i women's golf team returns home to conclude its fall season by hosting the Rainbow Wahine Invitational Tuesday, Oct. 30 and Wednesday, Oct. 31 at Leilehua Golf Course in Schofield Barracks, O'ahu.
The 2012 Rainbow Wahine Invitational is a 12-team tournament, featuring fellow Big West Conference member UC Irvine and Golf Week's No. 47 Washington State. Rounding out the rest of the field is Boise State, BYU, Eastern Michigan, Florida International, Memphis, New Mexico State, North Dakota State, Sacramento State and Toledo.
Participants will play a total of 54 holes, 36 on Tuesday and 18 on Wednesday at the par-72, 6,228-yard course with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start on both days.
Leading the Rainbow Wahine are senior Ka'ili Britos and freshman
Nichole Cruz after their seasonal best finishes of 13
th and 15
th place respectively, at the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate last week in California.
Last season the tournament was held at the Kapolei Golf Course. UH finished 11
th with Britos tying for 12
th overall at 7-over 223.
UH's spring season begins in February with the Folio Invitational, Feb. 17-19 in Industry Hills, Calif.
