HONOLULU - The University of Hawai`i Athletics Department is asking its fans to be “All In Against The Aggies” as the men's basketball team hosts first-place and defending WAC champion Utah State on Saturday, Jan. 29, at 7:00 p.m.

UH, which lost a close 74-66 contest at Utah State earlier this season, is hoping to fill the Stan Sheriff Center as the Rainbow Warriors host the Aggies in a conference rematch.

“We need a large and enthusiastic crowd to help cheer our players on to victory against a tough Utah State team,” Gib Arnold, UH head coach, said. “It's incredible the impact a spirited and energetic crowd has on the performance of our players. We hope the fans turn out in big numbers for this important WAC contest.”

The UH coaches and players will be visiting the UH dormitories and Campus Center today (Monday) to encourage students to attend the game. Rally Towels, courtesy of Rainbowtique, will be distributed in the student section. UH Manoa students receive free admission to all UH home sporting events by showing their valid UH identification card.

Game sponsor Anheuser-Busch and Sodexo will be hosting the Bud Light Backcourt Tailgate event on the mezzanine outside Gate B of the Stan Sheriff Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 each and include a barbecue dinner, two beverages, five lucky number drawing tickets, live entertainment and an opportunity for photos with the Bud Light girls. There will be lucky number drawings for autographed logo items, tickets and other valuable items during the event. In addition, for every ticket sold, Bud Light and Sodexo are contributing $6 to the UH men's basketball program. Admission is limited to the first 300 individuals who purchase a ticket. Coach Arnold, his staff, and some UH players will be at the tailgate party beginning at 5:00 p.m. until about 5:30 p.m. to meet and greet attendees. Fans who buy a ticket to the Bud Light Backcourt event can show their ticket at the Rainbowtique store in the Stan Sheriff Center and receive 20% off their purchase of regular-priced apparel.

Anheuser-Busch will award a Tailgate Prize Pack during its “Bud Light Spot Shot” halftime promotional contest. Also, 20 fans will be selected to participate in the “Half-Court Heave” at halftime. Each person who makes a half-court shot will receive two (2) free nights at a Waikiki oceanfront hotel and a significant cash prize. Fans can register for both contests at the sports marketing table inside Gate A before the game.

The UH Pep Band will be selling T-shirts for $10 outside the Stan Sheriff Center to raise funds for its travel costs to Las Vegas for the WAC Basketball Tournament in March. The first 100 fans who purchase the shirt will receive a voucher for a free hotdog and 20-ounce fountain soda at the arena concession stands, compliments of Sodexo. The voucher is valid only at Saturday's Utah State game.
